Join the Mercer Chamber of Commerce as they celebrate the blooming of the Lupine Wild Flower on Saturday, June 8, 2024!

We’ve mapped out several scenic routes ( 10 and 28 mile road rides and a pick-your-distance trail ride ) that will take bicyclists on paved roads through rolling hills and past lakes, rivers, forests, wildlife and miles of blooming lupines throughout the southern part of Iron County. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. with a group start at 8 a.m. The registration fee includes a tee, goodie bag, snacks, lunch coupon, water, and SAG vehicle support.

Online registration is available until June 5. There’s also an early packet pick-up from 9am-1 pm at the Mercer Chamber and 2-4pm at Carow Park on Friday, June 7th where you can discuss the bike routes and get acquainted with event organizers and fellow riders.

After the ride enjoy lunch and drinks from the concession stand as you listen to music with a beautiful view overlooking Grand Portage Lake.

The Boulder Junction Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the return of their popular White Deer Triathlon in 2025! Taking place on May 17, 2025, this event features a 3 kilometer paddle course on Boulder Lake, a 22 kilometer bike ride on paved roads with scenic views, and a 6 kilometer run on both paved roads and a forest trail.

Early bird registration ends January 31 and regular registration is open February 1 through May 9 at WhiteDeerTriathlon.com.

The event supports our fund raising efforts to expand the current Mercer bike trail from Carow Park along Hwy J to WinMan Trails ultimately completing a 26 mile loop of Mercer and Manitowish Waters as part of the Heart of Vilas County trail system. In previous years this ride was known as Lupine Junefest. The volunteers who created and supported that ride did a wonderful job of building the foundation for the trail expansion project. We are proud to take up the cause.

Join us in our efforts by riding a 7, 24, or 50 mile route starting and ending at Carow Park on the shores of beautiful Grand Portage Lake. Participants will start their ride between 8 and 9am. When you return to Carow Park stay with us for music, food and raffles. Cool off with a swim in the lake! Learn more about the Mercer bike trails and how you can play a part in completing the loop. This event also kicks off the week of Loon Days with the annual Loon Day Art and Craft fair on Saturday with over 250 vendors. Loon Day has been a Mercer tradition for over 45 years!
